A personal portfolio website for Wolf, a Belgium-based freelance architect specialising in residential and public service projects. The project started with his clear vision - an extensive set of references and strong preference on look and feel, along with a deep attachment to the landscape of the Flemish Ardennes that he wanted the site to reflect.

The goal was a site that felt personal but professional: credible enough to stand alongside Wolf's architectural work, but warm enough to feel like him. The challenge was reconciling a set of specific, sometimes conflicting references into one cohesive direction, without losing what made it authentic.

Expectations shifted meaningfully as the project progressed. Early direction leaned colourful and illustrative, shaped by the initial references and mood boards. As the design took shape, it moved toward something simpler and more restrained, less a change of taste than a clearer sense of what "personal but professional" actually meant for the practice. Each round of feedback meant revisiting decisions that had felt settled - demanding, but it kept sharpening the direction rather than just adding to it.

(outcome)

The final design is minimal and professional, but not cold. The palette shifted from saturated colour to a neutral, warmer tone. Personal symbols carried through, giving the site character without disrupting its restraint. The result is warm and welcoming despite the minimalism, well aligned and representative of Wolf's work.
