This project focused on designing a personal portfolio website for Wolf - a creative freelance architect. From the beginning, it was a challenging collaboration: despite having no fixed visual identity, Wolf had a very clear vision, a long list of references, and strong expectations for the look and feel of his website.

Throughout the project, these expectations changed significantly. What started as a more colourful and illustrative style, gradually shifted towards a simpler and more professional one (while still retaining personal and expressive details). The main challenge was translating these specific (and sometimes conflicting) ideas into a cohesive visual structure that felt both authentic and cohesive.

I guided the project through several design phases, including:

  • aligning on style, tone of voice, and overall direction through early discussions,
  • exploring visual directions through style boards, typography, colour palettes, and initial wireframes,
  • reworking the structure and visual language based on new inputs and feedback,
  • creating a full website proposal reflecting the final look and feel.

About the client

Wolf is a Belgium-based freelance architect with a focus on residential and public service projects. With a deep attachment to the landscape of the Flemish Ardennes, he wanted a personal website that reflected his values, with a feel that’s professional but also warm and welcoming, with subtle design details.

This was one of the most challenging projects I’ve worked on, but also one of the most rewarding. Collaborating with another creative and shaping their digital identity from an strong personal vision made the process both demanding and exciting.
